Indian Railways has announced 89 special train services that will run over the next three days to manage the heavy rush of passengers. This sudden increase in travellers has happened due to winter vacations, flight cancellations, and higher demand on several major routes.

These additional trains, which together will make more than 100 trips, will operate across different railway zones to ensure smoother travel and better connectivity during this busy period.
List of Trains to be Introduced
- Central Railway will introduce 14 special trains on routes such as Pune-Bengaluru, Pune-Hazrat Nizamuddin, LTT-Madgaon, CSMT-Hazrat Nizamuddin, LTT-Lucknow, Nagpur-CSMT, Gorakhpur-LTT and Bilaspur-LTT. These services will run between December 6 and December 12, depending on the route.
- South Eastern Railway has planned special trains to support passengers affected by flight cancellations. These include Santragachi-Yelahanka, Howrah-CSMT, and Cherlapalli-Shalimar services, running between December 6 and 9.
- South Central Railway will operate three special trains from December 6: Cherlapalli-Shalimar, Secunderabad-Chennai Egmore and Hyderabad-Mumbai LTT.
- Eastern Railway will run Howrah-New Delhi and Sealdah-LTT special services with departures between December 6 and 9.
- Western Railway will run seven special trains, including Mumbai Central-Bhiwani and Mumbai Central-Shakur Basti Superfast services, which will operate multiple times throughout December. Another service, Bandra Terminus-Durgapura, will run with AC and sleeper class coaches.
- Additional trains will also run from Gorakhpur, such as Gorakhpur-Anand Vihar Terminal and Gorakhpur-LTT, on December 7, 8 and 9.
- From Bihar, East Central Railway will operate Patna-Anand Vihar and Darbhanga-Anand Vihar specials on selected dates.
- Other zones, including North Western, North Central and Northern Railway, will also run special services on key routes such as Hisar-Khadki, Prayagraj-New Delhi, New Delhi-Udhampur and New Delhi-Mumbai.
- A Durg-Hazrat Nizamuddin special will also run on December 7 and 8.
