Holi 2024 brings a mix of joy and vibrant colors to India, and to ensure the festive spirit flows smoothly, significant updates in public transport services have been announced. The Delhi Metro services will see a slight adjustment on March 25, 2024, with operations kicking off at 2:30 PM. This change aims to accommodate the celebrations of Holi, ensuring safety and convenience for all.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) took to Twitter to inform the public about this adjustment. The tweet clarified, "On Holi, March 25, 2024 (Monday), Metro services won't be available until 2:30 PM across all Lines, including Rapid Metro/Airport Express Line." This ensures that all passengers are well-informed ahead of the festival.
Usually, Delhi Metro services start at around 5:00 AM and continue till about 11:00 PM. This schedule varies slightly across different lines and days of the week. However, on this particular day, operations across all lines will commence post 2:30 PM, resuming from terminal stations and continuing as normal for the rest of the day.
In response to a separate event, the ITO Metro station will be closed from 8 am to 6 pm on March 22, 2024. This closure is due to a protest by the AAP, following advice from the Delhi Police. The DMRC tweeted this service update, ensuring commuters can plan their travel accordingly.
Delhi Metro stands as India's largest and most bustling rapid transit network, connecting the capital city of New Delhi with neighboring satellite cities. It plays a pivotal role in the daily commute of millions, fostering connectivity and convenience.
Parallelly, in anticipation of the Holi festival rush, Indian Railways has announced the addition of 540 extra train services. These additional services aim to cater to the increased passenger demand, ensuring travelers reach their destinations comfortably during this busy period. Key routes being serviced include Gorakhpur-Mumbai, Kolkata-Puri, and New Delhi-Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, among others, strategically chosen to ease travel across the nation.
This comprehensive approach by both the Delhi Metro and Indian Railways illustrates their commitment to enhancing passenger experience during one of India's most cherished festivals. By planning ahead and adjusting services to meet the festive demand, both entities ensure that the spirit of Holi is celebrated without any hindrances to travel.
