Heatwave Grips Delhi with 41.2 Degrees Celsius; Light Rain Expected

The scorching heatwave has once again descended upon the capital city of Delhi, bringing discomfort to its residents. According to the weather department, the temperature is set to soar further on Thursday and Friday, exacerbating the heatwave. This rise in temperature is not confined to Delhi alone; neighboring states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, and Punjab are also experiencing a similar surge in temperature, with people feeling the warmth in the air during the daytime.

In Delhi's Narela area, the mercury soared to a sweltering 41.2 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, signaling a significant heatwave. The weather department forecasts that this hot weather will persist for the next two days, offering no immediate respite.

However, there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon, as the forecast predicts light rain on April 13, offering some relief from the scorching heat. The weather department has issued alerts for rain and storms in seven districts of Bihar, including Bhavua, Aurangabad, Rohtas, Gaya, Nawada, Jamui, and Banka. These areas are expected to experience light rain, thunderstorms, and lightning, with wind speeds ranging from 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, along with gusts.

In Patna, the capital of Bihar, the maximum temperature on Wednesday peaked at 38.1 degrees Celsius, while in Sheikhpura and Jiradei, it reached a scorching 40.4 degrees Celsius. Despite partial cloud cover in the afternoon, there was no significant relief from the heatwave. However, light rain was recorded in the Gaya district, offering a brief respite from the sweltering heat.

Similarly, some parts of Uttar Pradesh are also expected to receive light rainfall, providing relief to the residents. Meanwhile, in Himachal Pradesh, cloudy skies throughout the day have brought a slight drop in temperature. The mercury is expected to further decrease due to light rain and snowfall in the region.

Overall, while the heatwave continues to grip Delhi and its neighboring states, the possibility of light rain brings hope for some relief from the scorching heat in the coming days.
