Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Haryana on April 14, marking an important moment for the state. During this visit, he will launch air services from Maharaja Agrasen International Airport in Hisar and lay the foundation for an 800 MW power unit at the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant in Yamunanagar. These projects will improve regional connectivity and strengthen the state's power supply, boosting Haryana's development in many ways.

Boosting Air Connectivity in Haryana
Maharaja Agrasen International Airport in Hisar is a key part of Haryana's plan to develop an Integrated Aviation Hub across 7,200 acres. The project is divided into three phases, with the first phase already completed, including a terminal building built at a cost of Rs 50 crore. The second phase saw the construction of a 3,000-metre-long runway, allowing Airbus aircraft with up to 180 passengers to operate.
On June 13, 2024, an agreement was signed with Alliance Air to start flight services to five cities: Ayodhya, Jammu, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, and Chandigarh. This step followed the Airports Authority of India (AAI) securing a licence from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on March 13. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini also confirmed in his budget speech on March 17 that these flights would begin soon, bringing better connectivity to Haryana.
Expanding Power Generation in Yamunanagar
Another major project in Haryana is the construction of a new 800 MW unit at the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant in Yamunanagar. The power plant currently has two units of 300 MW each. With a total cost of Rs 7,272.06 crore, this new addition will increase Haryana's domestic power generation to 3,382 MW, supporting the state's total installed capacity of 14,000 MW.
This project has received all necessary approvals from the Union Ministry of Power, the Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL), and the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change. It is expected to be completed in 52 months, with commercial operations beginning in 48 months.
Honoring the Legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar
Alongside these infrastructure developments, Prime Minister Modi will also attend a state-level event celebrating the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. This event, with Modi as the chief guest, aims to inspire young people and raise awareness about Ambedkar's contributions to Indian society. Chief Minister Saini emphasized that Dr. Ambedkar's work in uplifting the underprivileged and shaping the Indian Constitution continues to guide and unite the nation.
These developments in Haryana reflect the government's efforts to enhance infrastructure, improve connectivity, and strengthen power supply. With the launch of air services, a boost in power generation, and the celebration of a great leader's legacy, Haryana is on the path to greater progress and prosperity.
