The Haryana government is thinking about a new and exciting train project that could change the way people travel in the National Capital Region (NCR). The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has proposed a new Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) rail line. This fast train will connect Gurugram and Greater Noida through Faridabad and Noida. It will also link with the Ghaziabad-Jewar airport corridor, which will make travel easier for many people and connect major cities and the upcoming airport.

Train to Cover 60 km at High Speed
The proposed train line will be about 60 kilometres long and the trains will run at a speed of up to 180 km per hour. The total cost of the project is expected to be ₹15,000 crore. This new route is different from other projects like the Delhi-Gurugram RRTS and the Delhi-SNB project. The NCRTC has already shared the plan with the Haryana government and is waiting for approval so that they can start preparing a detailed project report (DPR).
Stations on the Route
The train will have six important stations. It will start from near IFFCO Chowk at Sector 29 in Gurugram on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. The next station will be at Sector 54 on Golf Course Road. From there, it will go to Faridabad using the Gurugram-Faridabad Road, with stations at Bata Chowk and at the intersection of Sectors 85 and 86. Then it will move into Noida with a station at the Sector 142-168 intersection. Finally, it will reach Surajpur in Greater Noida. This route will also connect directly with the Ghaziabad-Jewar airport Namo Bharat corridor, making travel quicker and easier.
Monitoring Committee Suggested
The NCRTC has asked the Haryana government to create a monitoring committee. This committee should include people from different government departments to help make decisions quickly and smoothly.
Other RRTS Projects in Progress
The NCRTC is already working on a 102-km RRTS route from Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to SNB through Gurugram. This project will start in August 2026 and should be completed by November 2031. It will cost around ₹35,000 crore, with the cost shared between the central government and the governments of Haryana and Rajasthan.
Another project under discussion is a 136-km RRTS corridor from Sarai Kale Khan to New Karnal in Haryana. It will pass through Delhi's Ring Road to Mukarba Chowk and then follow NH-44 through Panipat to Madhuban. This project is expected to cost ₹34,000 crore.
Government Support for the New Route
A senior official from the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited (HMRTC) said that the proposal is being considered and that it will improve travel in three important NCR regions. The official added that full support will be given to make this project successful. Another government official said that meetings about the plan have already happened and that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has asked for the project to move ahead.
If approved, the new Gurugram to Greater Noida RRTS line will be a big improvement for the NCR. It will help people travel faster and more easily, reduce traffic, and support growth in the area. The project promises to bring big benefits to daily commuters and the economy.
