The Haryana government has officially approved the construction of the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) Expressway, a major step toward improving road connectivity in the Delhi-NCR region. Announced on March 22, 2025, this project aims to reduce traffic congestion and promote economic growth by providing a direct travel route between Faridabad, Noida, and Ghaziabad. The expressway is expected to save travel time and make commuting much easier for thousands of daily travelers.

A Long-Pending Project Gets Approval
The FNG Expressway was initially proposed by the Noida Authority nearly two decades ago. However, due to delays in approval, especially from the Haryana government, the project had not started. With the latest approval, the project is finally moving forward, thanks to the combined efforts of the Haryana and Uttar Pradesh governments.
A Key Bridge Over the Yamuna River
A major part of this project is the construction of a 600-meter-long bridge over the Yamuna River near Lalpur village. This bridge will make it much easier for travelers to move between Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Both state governments have agreed to share the construction costs equally, showing their commitment to improving inter-state connectivity.
Solving Daily Commuters' Problems
Right now, there is no direct road between Faridabad and Uttar Pradesh, making travel difficult for over 100,000 people who commute between Faridabad, Noida, and Ghaziabad every day. The current route forces them to pass through Delhi's Kalindi Kunj, leading to long travel times and heavy traffic. The FNG Expressway will provide a faster alternative, making daily commutes much smoother.
Government's Efforts to Improve Connectivity
The approval of necessary maps and plans for the expressway shows the strong commitment of the government to improving road infrastructure. Minister Vipul Goyal has spoken about the importance of this project in the Haryana budget discussions, highlighting its potential to transform transportation in the region.
A Big Relief for Commuters and Economic Growth
With the FNG Expressway, Faridabad and Uttar Pradesh will be directly connected for the first time. Travelers will no longer have to go through crowded parts of Delhi, making their journey faster and more convenient. This expressway will not only reduce travel time but also boost economic activities by improving the movement of goods and services.
The FNG Expressway is a long-awaited project that will change travel in the Delhi-NCR region. By reducing congestion, saving time, and improving connectivity, it will make life easier for daily commuters and help the region grow economically. As the construction begins, this project will become a major milestone in developing better roads for the future.
