The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to start urgent repair work at the Dwarka Expressway underpass near Sector 102 in Gurugram. This decision was taken after seepage problems were found in the underpass during a study done by the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI). To reduce traffic troubles, the repair work will be done in parts, and lane closures will happen in phases.

Lane closures planned to avoid inconvenience
According to NHAI's post on X, "Attention commuters: Based on CBRI report, #NHAI is undertaking urgent repair work to resolve seepage issues in the underpass at Dwarka Expressway near Sector 102, Gurugram, Haryana. Lanes will be closed in phases to ensure minimal inconvenience for commuters." The repair work will lead to traffic restrictions between Sector 09 and Sector 102 of Gurugram.
On May 22 and May 25, the road from Sector 09 to Sector 102 will remain closed between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Also, the reverse direction, from Sector 102 to Sector 09, will be closed from 6:00 PM on May 25 till 5:00 PM on May 29. NHAI has asked people to use different routes during this period to avoid any delays. In their message, they also added, "Please use alternative routes during this period. We regret the inconvenience caused."
Multi-utility corridor nearing completion
In addition to the underpass repair, a major project to build a 5.5 km long multi-utility corridor from Dwarka Expressway to Manesar is close to being completed. The work is expected to be finished by June 30. This corridor will help improve road connectivity and traffic movement in the area. The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is managing this project.
GMDA is also working on completing road construction between Sector 81 and Sector 95 before the monsoon begins. Along with this, they are upgrading the old drainage system to avoid waterlogging and reduce traffic jams in the future.
Better roads and drainage system for New Gurugram
These combined efforts by NHAI and GMDA aim to solve traffic and water-related problems in New Gurugram. The repair work and construction projects will make travel easier and improve daily life for residents and commuters. These changes reflect the authorities' serious commitment to better roads and stronger infrastructure for the community.
In the coming weeks, as work moves ahead, people can expect smoother roads, less traffic, and better drainage, making travel more comfortable and reliable in Gurugram.
