Gujarat to Get Two Major Projects

Among the approved projects, two key projects in Gujarat have received financial support:
- Ecotourism Destination at Kerly (Mokarsagar), Porbandar - ₹99.50 crore
- Tented City and Convention Centre, Dhordo - ₹51.56 crore

These projects will enhance Gujarat's tourism appeal and attract more visitors.

Project Selection and Evaluation

The Ministry of Tourism had provided detailed guidelines for state governments to submit project proposals. The submitted proposals were evaluated on multiple factors, such as:

- Connectivity to the tourist site
- Tourism ecosystem and facilities
- Carrying capacity and sustainability
- Management and long-term operation plans
- Tourism marketing strategies

Each project was selected based on its potential to improve tourism infrastructure and attract more visitors.

Implementation and Monitoring

The implementation of these projects will be handled by State Implementing Agencies, ensuring proper execution. The Ministry of Tourism will monitor progress regularly to ensure smooth and timely completion of the projects.

Promoting Lesser-Known Destinations

The Ministry of Tourism also promotes well-known and lesser-known tourist destinations through:
- Social media campaigns
- Official tourism websites
- Participation in national and international events
- Supporting state governments in organizing fairs and festivals

These efforts will help India's tourist destinations gain global recognition and attract more visitors.

With this initiative, India is taking a big step towards improving tourism infrastructure and making its iconic destinations more accessible and attractive on a global scale.
