New Regulations for Skilled Workers

The Skilled Immigration Act also addresses the process of obtaining full recognition of foreign qualifications. Applicants who seek to undergo qualification measures in Germany can now obtain a residence title for qualified employment and complete the necessary recognition procedure upon entering the country. Typically, residence permits are issued for one year but can be extended to up to three years. Moreover, applicants with practical professional knowledge are required to have a recognized professional qualification or university degree, alongside a minimum of two years' work experience in their desired occupation. Notably, formal recognition of the qualification in Germany is not mandatory for applicants, provided they meet the other criteria.

Salary Requirements for Job Offers

One crucial aspect for skilled workers considering immigration under this act is the salary requirement. Starting in 2024, the job offer for prospective immigrants must guarantee an annual gross salary of at least €40,770. This salary threshold is an integral part of ensuring that skilled workers are adequately compensated for their contributions to the German economy.
