The Uttar Pradesh government is working on a big urban development plan linked to the upcoming Noida International Airport, which is expected to open in 2025. This airport project is not just about air travel-it is helping to change the entire area east of Noida.

The plan includes the development of five new townships across 56,000 hectares over the next ten years. These changes are already affecting the region, with property prices near the Noida Expressway nearly doubling in just three years. Apartments in this area now cost between Rs 2 crore to Rs 10 crore, showing how popular and developed the region is becoming.
Development along the Yamuna Expressway
Most of the new development is happening along the Yamuna Expressway, which links Noida with cities like Mathura, Agra, and Bulandshahr. The presence of the Noida airport makes this area very important for future urban and business growth. The five new townships include Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region (called New Noida), Heritage City (Raya Urban Centre), New Agra, Tappal-Bajna, and the Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida (IITGN). These townships aim to boost both the economy and tourism in the region.
These cities include:
- New Noida (DNGIR): Industrial and logistics hub.
- Heritage City: Focused on religious tourism near Mathura.
- New Agra: A tourism and hospitality zone.
- Tappal-Bajna Industrial Township: Manufacturing and industrial development.
- Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida (IITGN): Smart infrastructure for industry and residential zones
A closer look at the planned townships
Each of these townships will have a different purpose. New Noida and IITGN are focused on industrial development and are located near the dedicated freight corridor. Heritage City will promote religious tourism and highlight the Braj culture connected to Lord Krishna. New Agra will focus on tourism and hospitality due to Agra's historical value. Tappal-Bajna is also planned as an industrial area. This mix of industries, tourism, and culture shows that the government is taking a well-rounded approach to regional development.
IITGN to lead the way
The first township to be completed is the Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida (IITGN). It will be a zone for industries along with homes for workers and residents. It will have 24-hour electricity, LED street lights, and CCTV cameras for safety. So far, 18 companies have planned to invest here, including big names like Haier Electronics and Formi Mobile.
Heritage City to attract pilgrims and tourists
Another major project is Heritage City in the Raya Urban Centre. This township will reflect Lord Krishna's stories and will offer facilities like wellness zones, hotels, green parks, and convention centres. Its location near religious sites and the new airport makes it ideal for pilgrims and tourists.
New Agra and Tappal-Bajna to serve tourism and cargo needs
The Tappal-Bajna Logistics Park will be built near the Jewar airport to handle cargo such as cement, steel, food grains, and vehicles. The project will cost ₹1,040 crore and will be built in three phases. It will also include repair centres and modern communication systems.
New Agra Urban Centre will boost the city's tourism with commercial areas and better access to the Taj Mahal. Plans include new parks and eco-friendly zones to reduce pollution in the Taj Trapezium Zone. This township will be directly connected to the Noida airport, making it a modern tourist spot.
A new future for the region
These townships show the Uttar Pradesh government's vision for a better future. By mixing industries, culture, tourism, and better roads, the state aims to grow the region's economy and attract both investors and tourists. The connection of all these projects with the Noida International Airport shows smart planning for a modern and growing city life in the state.
