The Entry To The Taj Mahal Free For Three Days From February 27

The Archaeological Survey of India has issued an order for free entry to the Taj Mahal on all three days during the Shah Jahan's Urs.

Once again that opportunity has come, when tourists will be able to see the original tombs of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz in the Taj Mahal. Free entry will be available to the Taj Mahal for three days. Shah Jahan's three-day Urs will be held at the Taj Mahal on February 27, 28, and March 1. The Archaeological Survey of India has issued an order for free entry to the Taj Mahal on all three days during the Shah Jahan's Urs.

According to Dr Rajkumar Patel, Superintending Archaeologist, tourists will be able to enter for free on the first day of Shahjahan Urs on Sunday, February 27, from 2 pm to evening.

On Monday, February 28, the traditions of Urs will start after 2 pm, and from then till evening one can enter for free. On Tuesday, the last day of Urs on March 1, free entry can be made from sunrise to sunset.

During the Urs, the Covid-19 protocol will have to be followed and the entry of big drums, tashes, advertising material, etc. will be restricted in the Taj on all three days. However, after Ghusl ceremony there will be Azaan and Fatiha will be recited at the original graves. The Qawwalis will continue till the gates of the Taj Mahal are closed.

Tourists will be able to see the original tombs of Shah Jahan-Mumtaz built in the basement of the Taj Mahal on all three days. The Archaeological Survey of India officials will open the doors of the basement made in the main dome of the Taj Mahal.
