Egypt has declared plans to construct a 114-kilometer-long artificial river. The project will be the longest of its kind in the world and has been valued at 160 billion Egyptian pounds which is 5.25 billion dollars.
Name of the Project:
The name of this one-of-a-kind project is titled as the "New Delta"
Egypt's Futrue and the South of El-Dabaa Axis are two further specific initiatives that will be a part of this larger national project.
In addition to providing food security & import substitution, the project, which is close to ports and airports, is said to create work opportunities. This will aid in boosting the development of strategic crops, hence lowering imports of expensive goods, which have gotten worse as a result of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
However, since Egypt is the world's largest importer of wheat, the project's primary goal is to increase the amount of agricultural land in Egypt.

According to sources, 2.2 million acres of agricultural land will be developed as part of the Egyptian project, and groundwater and agricultural drainage water would be recycled to produce water for the river.
The New Delta project, which will be situated along the new Rawd Al-Farag-Dabaa axis route, will be the largest in Egypt's history, according to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

India has been offered visas on arrival by Egypt, which recently altered its regulations for multiple entry visas in an effort to increase tourism. Egypt's tourism minister recently made this announcement after the government increased the number of nationalities eligible for the visa-on-arrival service.
To increase tourism in the nation, recent amendments to the visa regulations were introduced. Previously, only those with entry visas from the United Kingdom, America, Japan, Australia, Canada, or New Zealand could use this facility. In his speech at the beginning of the week, Minister of Tourism & Antiquities, Mr. Ahmed Issa confirmed India's inclusion on the list.

According to media sources, a single-entry visa-on-arrival will cost INR 2060 and a 5-year multiple-entry visa will cost INR 57,688. The visa is valid for thirty days after the entry date. More than 180 nations are covered by this new visa policy.
Indian citizens who have a resident visa for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) would also be allowed to get a visa when they arrive in Egypt. The qualifications needed to enter have also changed for visitors from other nations.
Egypt is surely one of the preferable destinations for Indians. They love to explore the land of ancient history, stunning architecture, and natural wonders.
