On Thursday, Maharashtra's Hingoli City felt the earth move under its feet not once but twice within a span of ten minutes. The National Center for Seismology reported that the first earthquake struck at 6:08 am, registering a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale. Shortly after, at around 6:19 am, a second quake followed, this time with a magnitude of 3.6. Both seismic events shared the same depth of 10 km beneath the city's surface.

The National Center for Seismology took to X to announce these occurrences, providing precise details such as the latitude, longitude, magnitude, and depth of the earthquakes. The information was accompanied by a recommendation for the public to download the BhooKamp App for further updates and safety tips.
Furthermore, the tremors weren't confined to Hingoli alone. Several areas of Nanded, also in Maharashtra, experienced tremors that lasted for around ten seconds between 6 am and 8 am on the same Thursday.
In a related development, Arunachal Pradesh's East Kameng district was jolted by three earthquakes on the same day. The series began at 1:49 am with a quake measuring 3.7 magnitude, followed by a 3.4 magnitude tremor at 3:40 am, and concluding with a 3.2 magnitude shake at 5:13 am. Similar to the events in Maharashtra, these earthquakes struck at a depth of 10 km, with the exception of the second one, which was shallower at 5 km.
The National Center for Seismology also shared these incidents on X, urging the public in Arunachal Pradesh to stay informed through the BhooKamp App. The back-to-back natural occurrences highlight the unpredictable nature of earthquakes and the importance of preparedness and awareness among residents in affected regions.
