World Earth Day is commemorated every year on the 22nd of April. This date of 22nd April has become an important date as this is spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.
History of Earth Day
The idea for Earth Day was originally born in 1969, when a US Senator named Gaylord Nelson, witnessed the effects of a massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, CA. The first Earth Day helped create the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

As per Earth Day Organization, the theme for Earth Day 2022 is "Invest In Our Planet." The key point here is to act boldly, innovate broadly, and implement equitably.

1. Support our pollinators
Bring native bees and other pollinating creatures to your garden. One way to do this is by selecting the right plants.
2. Conserve water
We waste a lot of water. Avoid overwatering your plants and improve their health by knowing how much your garden needs.
3. Recycle and reuse
Caring about yourself and nature means being less wasteful and saving money, too. Who would argue with this?

As the world wakes up to its addiction, just how easy is it to ditch plastic while growing and storing more of our food?
6. Stop pesticides and chemicals in the garden
You don't need chemicals to get rid of pesky garden pests. Much of this is simply about focusing less on the plant and more on the health of the soil.

The fact is that over 100 million trees are cut down each year to produce junk mail including catalogues. Plus they usually just end up in the trash anyway.
8. Shop smart for clothes
You can buy an environmentally friendly outfit! As with any kind of material good, buying something that's already been used is great for the earth.
