The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has started construction work on the Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor, an important part of the Delhi Metro Phase 4 expansion project. The work began with the construction of a diaphragm wall at the Sarai Rohilla Metro station site in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and is expected to improve connectivity across the capital and reduce travel time for thousands of commuters.

Although the Union Cabinet approved the corridor in March 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid its foundation stone the same month. The project is targeted for completion by December 2030.
Delhi's Inderlok-Indraprastha Corridor
The Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor will have 10 stations and will be built completely underground. It will connect several important areas of Delhi, including Inderlok, Dayabasti, Sarai Rohilla, Ajmal Khan Park, Nabi Karim, New Delhi, Delhi Gate, and Indraprastha. The route is expected to provide faster and more convenient travel while easing traffic congestion on busy roads.
Advantages & Features of this Corridor
One of the biggest advantages of the new corridor is that it will offer five interchange stations, allowing passengers to switch easily between different Metro lines. The interchanges will connect the corridor with the Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Airport Express, and other Metro lines, making travel across Delhi much smoother.
The corridor will also use driverless train technology, making it one of the most modern Metro routes in the country. Once completed, it is expected to improve public transport, reduce dependence on private vehicles, and help lower traffic congestion and air pollution in the city.
DMRC said the Phase 4 expansion will strengthen Delhi's Metro network by connecting more residential and commercial areas. The Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor is one of the key projects under this phase and is expected to provide faster, safer, and more comfortable travel for lakhs of daily commuters after it becomes operational.
