Good news for road trip lovers, as the distance from Delhi to Jaipur, is now just two hours with the Sohna-Dausa stretch of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway which will be a great opportunity for people living in both cities to have a wonderful weekend trip.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Sohna-Dausa stretch on 12th February, Sunday. Earlier Nitin Gadkari announced the inauguration date as 4th January 2023, but later he tweeted it as 12th January as the change in date.
The Sohana-Dausa stretch is the 1st leg of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The road length of the entire Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will be 1,390 km. It will be the longest expressway in India. The road will cut the distance between the two largest cities, Delhi and Mumbai, in the nation in half, from 24 to 12 hours.
With the successful completion of the Sohana-Dausa stretch the five-hour trip from Delhi to Jaipur will take just two hours. It is being constructed as a part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana's initial phase. A network of tunnels, elevated corridors, bridges, flyovers, ring roads, interchanges, overpasses, bypasses, etc. make up the Bharatmala Pariyojana ecosystem.

The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will stimulate regional economic growth. The Ambala - Kotputli Corridor and the Amritsar - Jamnagar Corridor are two important corridors that have already been finished or are very close to being finished. The Vadodara - Ankleshwar another important section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is almost finished.
