Gurugram's Working Professionals to Get WFH

The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) issued the advisory after Gurugram received around 97 mm of rainfall in just 24 hours. The heavy rain flooded several roads, underpasses and residential areas, making commuting difficult for thousands of people. Authorities have advised many corporate offices and private institutions in Gurugram to continue work from home (WFH) for the second consecutive day to reduce traffic and ensure public safety.

Delhi Rain Alert on 7 August

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across Delhi and Haryana, with isolated heavy showers likely during the day. Delhi is expected to remain cloudy with light to moderate rain in the morning, while heavier spells may occur later in the afternoon. The cloudy weather is also expected to keep daytime temperatures lower than usual.

Rainfall in Gurugram Led to Several Challenges

Gurugram continues to face major challenges after Thursday's rain. Important underpasses, including Medanta and IFFCO Chowk, were submerged, disrupting traffic. A section of road near The Westin hotel also caved in due to the heavy rainfall, adding to commuters' problems. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as more rain is expected.

Advisory for Delhi-NCR Residents

Officials have urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel and follow weather advisories until conditions improve. People have also been advised to drive carefully, as waterlogged roads and poor visibility could increase the risk of accidents. Civic agencies are working to clear flooded roads and improve drainage in the affected areas.

The ongoing rainfall has once again highlighted Gurugram's monsoon-related problems, including poor drainage and frequent flooding. With more rain forecast over the next few days, authorities remain on alert and have asked residents to stay updated with official weather warnings before stepping out.
