The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted different weather conditions across India for Friday, June 26, as the southwest monsoon continues to move north. While some parts of the country are likely to experience heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds, others may continue to face heatwave conditions.
Delhi Rain Alert
In Delhi, the IMD has forecast light rainfall at isolated places along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Wind speeds are expected to reach 40-50 kmph and may occasionally increase to 60 kmph. These conditions are likely to provide temporary relief from the hot and humid weather. The weather department has also predicted scattered rain in the capital over the weekend as monsoon activity gradually becomes stronger.
Neighbouring states such as Haryana, Punjab, and Chandigarh are also expected to receive isolated rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. Cloudy skies and intermittent rain are likely to continue across the Delhi-NCR region in the coming days as monsoon conditions improve.
