The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for heavy rainfall in several states, including Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in Delhi-NCR from 15 to 17 July. Widespread rain with lightning and strong winds is anticipated across large parts of India in the coming days.

On 15 July, a Red Alert for extremely heavy rainfall was issued for Nagaur, Pali, and Ajmer in Rajasthan, as well as Jashpur, Balrampur, and Surajpur. An Orange Alert was announced for Shimla, Solan, Bageswar, Dehradun, Sirmaur, and Chamoli. In Jammu and Kashmir, districts like Kistwar and Udhampur are under Orange Alert.

Rainfall Predictions Across India
In Northwest India, isolated places in Rajasthan are likely to experience extremely heavy rainfall on 15 July. Heavy rainfall is predicted over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from 15-20 July. Jammu and Kashmir will see similar conditions from 15-17 July.
East and Central India will witness extremely heavy rainfall over Chhattisgarh on 15 July. West Madhya Pradesh may face isolated heavy rainfall from 15-18 July. East Madhya Pradesh and Odisha could see similar conditions from 15-20 July.
Northeast India is expected to have continuous rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms over the next week. Very heavy rainfall is predicted over Meghalaya on 15 July.
South Peninsular India's Weather Outlook
In South Peninsular India, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka are likely to experience isolated heavy rainfall from 15-20 July. Lakshadweep might face heavy rains on the last two days of this period.
Strong surface winds reaching speeds of up to 50 kmph are expected over South Peninsular India during this time frame. Moderate rainfall is anticipated over Kerala and Mahe throughout the week.
