New Delhi, June 27: Several parts of Delhi are expected to witness scheduled power cuts on Friday, June 27, as BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) carries out planned maintenance and infrastructure upgradation works across its distribution network. The temporary shutdowns are aimed at improving the reliability of electricity supply through transformer replacement, feeder maintenance, RMU repairs, pole shifting and other network-related works.
Residents in affected localities are advised to charge essential electronic devices in advance and plan their daily activities around the scheduled outages.
Areas likely to be affected today
Power supply is expected to remain disrupted in the following areas during the scheduled maintenance works:
Hauz Khas
- 11:06 AM to 11:51 AM
- Affected area: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)
- Reason: RMU coupling bus bar damage repair
Vikaspuri
- 11:37 AM to 2:37 PM
- Affected areas: Block C, JJ Colony, Uttam Nagar
- Reason: Transformer network upgradation
Chhatarpur
Two maintenance shutdowns have been scheduled:
- 11:06 AM to 2:06 PM: Dr Ambedkar Colony
- 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM: Maidan Garhi Village
- Reason: Transformer network upgradation
Palam
Multiple areas under Palam are expected to experience outages:
- 11:06 AM to 12:36 PM: Block WZ, Raj Nagar-2
- 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM: Block C, Vinodpuri, Vijay Enclave and Mahavir Enclave
- 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM: Pocket 6, Sector 1, Nasirpur
- 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM: Sector 8, Dwarka
- 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM: Nanda Block, Mahavir Enclave Part 1
Nangloi

- Parts of Mundka are also expected to face temporary power interruptions due to scheduled maintenance activities.
Why is there a power cut today?
According to BRPL, the scheduled outages are part of routine maintenance and infrastructure improvement works designed to strengthen the electricity distribution network before the peak monsoon season. The work includes transformer replacement, feeder maintenance, RMU repairs, network upgrades and pole shifting to minimise unexpected disruptions in the future.
Consumers in the affected areas are advised to keep mobile phones, laptops, power banks and other essential devices fully charged before the scheduled shutdown. Residents should also use electrical appliances judiciously until normal power supply is restored.
