The Delhi Metro's Phase-IV expansion will include the construction of four new underground stations, which include New Delhi, Delhi Gate, Delhi Sachivalaya-IG Stadium, and Indraprastha, and form an important part of a new corridor designed to improve travel across central and east Delhi, according to bidding documents released by

the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
Delhi Metro's Design & Building of Station Elements
DMRC will design and build all major station elements such as platforms, concourse levels, and service areas. The project will fully integrate architecture, structural work, mechanical systems, and electrical systems to ensure smooth operations once the stations are completed. The documents explain that each station will include all the permanent and temporary structures needed for safe functioning. This includes cut-and-cover station boxes, base slabs, concourse slabs, intermediate slabs, roof slabs, and side walls. Moreover, pedestrian subways will provide easy movement and better connectivity with other transport modes. Entry and exit points will be equipped with staircases, escalators, and lifts to manage large passenger numbers along the corridor. The project will also include essential support rooms such as tunnel ventilation fan rooms, auxiliary substations, centralised AC plant rooms, pump houses for handling rainwater, and system rooms for SCADA and telecom networks. These facilities are necessary to ensure the stations are fully ready for operations.
Cost of Construction Package
DMRC has specified that contractors must arrange temporary systems needed during construction, including traffic diversions, access routes, de-watering arrangements, and shifting of utilities to reduce disruption to the public during the work period. The total cost of this construction package is listed as ₹175.6 million in the tender documents. Agencies wishing to participate must submit bid security by January 12, 2026. This project is part of Delhi Metro's Phase-IV expansion, which aims to improve connectivity and reduce congestion across the national capital.
