The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has started construction work at Central Secretariat Metro Station for the upcoming Central Vista Corridor, an important part of the Magenta Line extension from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram Marg under Delhi Metro Phase V(A).

Delhi Metro Construction Work Started on Wednesday
The construction work began on Wednesday in the presence of Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs and Power Manohar Lal Khattar. Katikithala Srinivas, Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and Chairman of DMRC, along with other senior officials, also attended the event.
Once completed, Central Secretariat Metro Station will become a triple-interchange station, connecting the new Magenta Line to the existing Yellow and Violet Lines. This is expected to make travel easier for many commuters, especially government employees and those travelling to the Central Vista area in New Delhi.
Delhi Metro's Central Vista Corridor
The Central Vista Corridor will be 9.913 km long and will have nine underground stations. These stations are Shivaji Stadium, Yuge Yugeen Bharat, Central Secretariat, Kartavya Bhawan, India Gate, War Memorial-High Court, Baroda House, Bharat Mandapam, and Indraprastha.
How will this Corridor Benefit Commuters?
This new corridor is expected to improve metro connectivity in the heart of Delhi by linking important locations, including government offices, courts, national memorials, and convention centres. It will help people travel more easily to major administrative and public places in central Delhi.
The project is also likely to improve the efficiency of the Delhi Metro network and reduce travel time for passengers moving across central Delhi and nearby areas.
