There is good news for lakhs of daily commuters from North and South Delhi, the coming year will see the opening of three important corridors under Delhi Metro's Phase-IV project. At the same time, the full 82-km Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor will also become operational, cutting

travel time between the two cities to just 55 minutes and making inter-state travel easier.
Corridors Delhi Metro Phase IV
Delhi Metro Phase-IV includes six corridors, but three of them, the Pink Line, Magenta Line, and Golden Line, have been given priority. The Pink Line is a 71.6-km circular route and is the largest single metro corridor in Delhi. A 12-km stretch connecting Majlis Park in northwest Delhi to Maujpur in east Delhi, covering eight stations, is expected to open soon. This section will greatly help residents of crowded areas such as Burari, Jagatpur Village, Jharoda Majra, and Yamuna Vihar.
Delhi Metro's Magenta Line
The Magenta Line will run for 27 km from Krishna Park Extension in west Delhi to RK Ashram Marg in central Delhi, with 21 stations. It will provide faster travel from outer Delhi areas like Mongolpuri, Peeragarhi, and Haiderpur Badli Mor to the city centre. A part of this line is already running, while another 9.92-km stretch from Deepali Chowk to Majlis Park is likely to open soon. The remaining sections will be completed in phases by the end of 2026.
How Will Delhi's Golden Line Benefit Passengers?
The Golden Line will benefit South Delhi commuters and is expected to open by the end of 2026. It will connect Aerocity to Tughlakabad with 15 stations, passing through areas such as Vasant Kunj, Chhattarpur, Khanpur, and Sangam Vihar.
Meanwhile, the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor will be fully functional in 2026. Trial runs have been successful, and the project is expected to reduce traffic by removing nearly one lakh cars from the roads. Work on future RRTS corridors connecting Gurugram, Bawal, Panipat, and Karnal is also planned.
