The Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor has received a temporary service upgrade to make travel easier during the Kanwar Yatra. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has announced that from July 30 to August 14, trains will run more frequently to handle the expected rise in passenger numbers.

Under the revised schedule, 52 additional train trips have been added every day on the corridor between Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi and Modipuram in Meerut. With these extra services, commuters will now get a Namo Bharat train every 8 minutes, instead of the usual 10-minute interval. This change is expected to reduce waiting time and make journeys more convenient for both daily commuters and Kanwar pilgrims.
The NCRTC stated the decision was taken due to thousands of Kanwariyas travelling during this period, leading to increased passenger demand and traffic diversions on roads. By increasing train frequency, the authority hopes to encourage more people to use public transport and avoid road congestion. If passenger numbers rise further, the train frequency may be increased even more.
The Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor is India's first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) and connects Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut with fast, comfortable trains. The fully operational corridor has significantly reduced travel time between Delhi and Meerut, making it a preferred choice for office-goers, students and other regular passengers.

Passengers travelling during the Kanwar Yatra are advised to check the updated train timings before starting their journey. The temporary service enhancement will remain in effect until August 14, after which trains are expected to return to their regular schedule unless further changes are announced by the NCRTC. The upgraded schedule is aimed at ensuring smoother, faster, and more comfortable travel for everyone using the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor during the festive rush.
