Delhi Implements Traffic Adjustments For Run For Inclusion And Cycling Event This Weekend

Delhi will enforce traffic adjustments for the Run for Inclusion and cycling events this weekend. Road closures will be in effect to ensure safety for participants, with alternative routes suggested for motorists. The Delhi Police urges residents to stay updated on traffic advisories and plan accordingly for smooth transit.

In anticipation of significant gatherings due to the "Run for Inclusion" and a cycling event, Delhi will see major traffic adjustments this weekend. The events, aimed at fostering inclusivity and athleticism, will necessitate road closures and rerouted traffic to accommodate participants and ensure safety. Delhi Police have issued advisories detailing the changes, urging motorists to prepare for alternative routes to maintain smooth transit throughout the city.

The "Run for Inclusion," hosted by Special Olympics Bharat on Saturday morning, will see up to 10,000 participants. It seeks to unify people with and without intellectual disabilities. Starting from the Civil Services/NDMC Officers' Club, the route will extend through Vinay Marg, Niti Marg, and Satya Marg before circling back. To facilitate this, certain roads will be off-limits to traffic between 7 AM and 10 AM, including Panchsheel Marg leading to the Niti-Panchsheel Marg roundabout. Conversely, specific avenues such as Satya Marg towards the Niti Marg-Satya Marg roundabout and Africa Avenue Marg towards Yaswant Palace will remain open to traffic.

Advisory on Traffic Diversions and Restrictions

In line with ensuring minimal disruption, the Delhi Police have announced diversions and prohibited areas for parking. Notably, Tughlak Road—from Khera Kurd Cut to the CNG pump in Rohini Sector-27—and BR Ambedkar Marg—from Mahadev Chowk to T-Point Tuglak Road in Rohini Sector-28/29—will see restrictions. Vehicles found parked along these roads will be towed, emphasizing the need for adherence to the advisory. Utsav Marg, Khera Khurd Road, and other connected routes will also experience blockades, with diversions at key junctions like Mahadev Chowk and Khera Khurd Yamuna Canal.

Moreover, the cycling events tied to the 73rd All India Police Athletic Cluster Championship 2024-2025, spanning from Saturday to Tuesday in Rohini Sector-29, compound the traffic considerations. A significant turnout is expected, which could affect the flow of traffic in the surrounding area. Motorists are advised to plan their routes in advance and use suggested alternatives like Kautilya Marg and Shanti Path to circumvent the affected regions.

To ensure seamless travel during these times, the public is encouraged to stay informed about the latest traffic updates and advisories. The emphasis on planning and using alternative routes aims to minimize inconvenience and ensure the smooth conduct of the events, reflecting a well-coordinated effort between the city's traffic management and event organizers.

As Delhi gears up for a weekend of inclusivity and sporting spirit, traffic adjustments are essential for the safety and convenience of all involved. The Delhi Police's proactive measures, including road closures and traffic diversions, underscore the importance of cooperation from the city's residents and visitors. By staying informed and adaptable, everyone can contribute to the success of these events while navigating the city's roads with ease.
