With the beginning of December, school students all over Tamil Nadu are looking forward to an exciting and relaxing month. With half-yearly exams, festivals, and weekends falling neatly on the calendar, students are expected to enjoy around 15 school holidays in the last month of 2024. This means a peaceful and

happy end to the year, not only for students but also for teachers.
Exams to be Held From 10 Dec
The half-yearly exams will be held from December 10 to December 23. Once the exams finish, students will immediately get their Christmas holidays. This year, they will have eight days off after their exams, giving them enough time to rest and recover from the pressure of studying.
Additional Break
In addition to the Christmas break, there are also three weekends between December 1 and December 23: December 6-7, December 13-14, and December 20-21. When these weekends are combined with the post-exam holidays and the festival holidays, the total number of days off easily reaches 15. This gives students a well-earned break and offers teachers some extra time before the busy new year begins.
Tamil Nadu's Regional Festival
At the same time, Tamil Nadu is celebrating the grand festival of Karthigai Deepam. The famous celebrations at the Annamalaiyar Temple in Tiruvannamalai are happening with great devotion. The seventh day of the festival is tomorrow. The most important events are the lighting of the Bharani Deepam at 4 a.m. on December 3, followed by the lighting of the Mahadeepam on the 2,668-feet high Annamalai hill at 6 p.m. on the same day. Thousands of devotees visit the temple to witness this.
School Closures in Tamil Nadu
Because of these celebrations, schools and colleges in Tiruvannamalai district will have a holiday on December 3, and December 13 will be a working Saturday. A similar plan is in place in Kanyakumari district for the Kottar Peralaya festival, with December 3 as a holiday and December 6 marked as a working day. Overall, December is shaping up to be a month full of joy, festivals, and well-deserved rest for students.
