As we see the global decline in coronavirus cases, The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has recently announced ease in covid guidelines for inbound international travellers.

In a significant development, the Indian government has announced the discontinuation of random testing for international travellers, effective 20th July 2023, and will be applicable at all entry points including airports, land borders & seaports.
Earlier it was mandatory to do random testing on 2% of passengers entering India.Now with the relaxation, Ministry advised that travellers must be fully vaccinated as per the approval norms of their home country. Along with this ministry announced that public announcements about the COVID-19 pandemic will be followed almost everywhere including entries, flights, etc.
The government also recommended that passengers self-monitor their health after arriving and get in touch with the closest medical facility if they start showing COVID-19 symptoms.

What has not changed?
- The Center's guidelines also stated that any passenger showing COVID-19 symptoms while travelling must be isolated according to with standard protocol.
- The affected passenger must be isolated, wear a mask, and be kept separate from other passengers during the flight or travel, and must then be transferred to an isolation facility for further care as per the situation.
- The Ministry has instructed airlines to ensure that de-boarding follows established physical distancing rules sincerely.

- The government emphasized that the health authorities on duty at the point of entry should conduct thermal screenings of all passengers as it has been done since the time of the pandemic.
- There won't be much of a change in the procedure that must be followed upon arrival in India.
