Kedarnath Cloudburst: On Wednesday, a cloudburst hit the sacred town of Kedarnath in Uttarakhand, causing significant damage to the area. The heavy rainfall led to a landslide along the Bhim Bali stream, which runs near the Kedarnath walkway. About 30 meters of the walkway were destroyed. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.

Several bridges and power projects were also affected.

Another cloudburst occurred in the Thaltukhod area of the Padhar subdivision in Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh. This incident has resulted in tragic consequences. One person has died, and nine others are missing. Rescue and relief efforts are being led by teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), SDRF, police, home guard, and fire services. The local administration is actively involved in coordinating the response.

The ongoing monsoon season has been particularly harsh for Himachal Pradesh. Since June 27, the state has experienced 65 rain-related deaths, underscoring the severe impact of this year's monsoon rains.

General Precautions and Forecast:

The IMD continues to monitor the weather closely, especially in areas like Larji and Pandoh dams, where water levels are being carefully controlled. Downstream areas have been alerted as a precautionary measure.

The forecast for Shimla, another key location in Himachal Pradesh, indicates a maximum temperature of 24°C and a minimum temperature of 16°C. Residents and visitors in the affected areas are urged to stay vigilant and follow any advisories issued by local authorities.
