Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Sunday that three metro stations in Delhi will be renamed to help passengers easily identify the areas they serve. The changes aim to make station names clearer and more connected to local landmarks.

Metro Stations To Get Renamed
• The current Pitampura Metro Station on the Red Line will be renamed "Madhuban Chowk Metro Station." This station will soon become an interchange once the RK Puram-Janakpuri corridor of the Magenta Line under Phase IV begins operation.
• Two upcoming stations on the same corridor will also get new names. The under-construction North Pitampura station in QU Block will now be called "North Pitampura-Prashant Vihar Metro Station." Another proposed station, earlier known as Pitampura North, will be renamed "Haiderpur Village Metro Station." These stations are expected to open to the public next year.
Delhi CM Addresses the Public
While addressing the public, CM Gupta said that the arrival of the Raj Kalash Yatra, held in honour of the soldiers of the Rezang La War, at Haiderpur is a proud moment for the city. She said the event symbolizes the message of "Nation First" and assured that her government is committed to developing the entire area. She also shared on X that these name changes are meant to make travel simpler and more convenient for commuters.
Delhi Metro's Phase IV Expansion
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is currently building around 112 km of new metro lines as part of the Phase IV expansion across the capital. Two major corridors, RK Ashram Marg to Janakpuri West and Aerocity to Tughlakabad (the new Golden Line), are already under construction. The Majlis Park to Maujpur stretch is nearly complete, while three more new corridors approved last year are still in the pre-construction stage.
