The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has been carrying out frequent power cuts in many parts of Karnataka over the last few months. These outages have affected villages, towns, taluks, and even major cities such as Bengaluru. Until January 11, several areas experienced long hours of power disruption. This

raised concerns among residents about whether the same situation would continue on January 12.
No Official Information on Power Outage in Bengaluru
According to the latest information, there are no planned power cuts in Bengaluru or other parts of Karnataka on January 12. However, even without a scheduled outage, many residents reported power-related issues such as voltage fluctuations and irregular supply. People from areas like Teachers Colony in HSR Layout, Sathya Sai Layout in Whitefield (560066), and Jyoti Farm on Kanakapura Road contacted BESCOM to report these problems. BESCOM has responded by asking residents to share more details so the issues can be checked and resolved.
Power Cut on 12 January in Chennai
While Karnataka seems to have no official power shutdown on January 12, another major city is expected to face a planned power cut. Chennai will experience a scheduled power outage on Monday due to maintenance work announced by the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TNPDCL).
In Chennai, several areas in Ambattur and nearby locations will have no power supply from 9 am to 2 pm on January 12. The shutdown is part of regular maintenance activities aimed at improving electricity services.
List of Areas to be Affected in Chennai
The areas likely to be affected include Redhills, Kilkondaiyur, Arakkampakkam, Karlapakkam, Thamaraipakkam, Kathavur, Velachery, Pondeswaram, Karanai, Pudhukuppam, Vaniyan Chathiram, Ayilacherry, Guruvoyil, Vel Tech Road, and surrounding locations. Residents in these areas are advised to plan their day accordingly until power supply is restored.
