For the ICC T20 Men's World Cup match between the India national cricket team and Zimbabwe national cricket team at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk on Thursday, Metro train services will run until midnight to help fans travel easily.

Match Tickets to be Used as Metro Tickets
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has announced that match tickets with unique QR codes can also be used as Metro tickets. This means fans do not need to buy a separate Metro ticket. Each match ticket will be valid for one round-trip on Thursday. Passengers can travel from any Metro station to the Government Estate Metro station and return using the same QR code. They only need to scan the code at the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates for smooth entry and exit.
Extension of Chennai Metro Services
To manage the large crowd after the match, Metro services from Government Estate station will be extended. The last train towards Wimco Nagar Depot Metro station will leave at 12 midnight. Similarly, the last train towards the Airport Metro station will also depart at midnight.
Green Line Services
For passengers travelling towards the Green Line, Corridor 2 after 11 pm, interchange will be allowed only at Chennai Central Metro station. Additionally, entry into the Government Estate Metro station will close 10 minutes before the departure of the last trains in each direction.
These special arrangements have been made to ensure safe and comfortable travel for cricket fans attending the big match.
