Tamil Nadu Weather Update
According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), heavy rainfall is expected in 14 districts of Tamil Nadu within the next 24 hours. This is due to a low-level atmospheric circulation over southern Tamil Nadu. The 14 districts likely to experience heavy rainfall include Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Theni, Dindigul, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, Tiruppatur, Krishnagiri, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, and Perambalur. Additionally, some areas of Tamil Nadu, Karaikal, and Puducherry can expect rain accompanied by thunderstorms on June 3 and 4.
The weather department also anticipates a decrease in maximum temperatures by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius across Tamil Nadu and neighbouring districts until June 5. Moreover, the RMC forecasts relief from the heat wave in Tamil Nadu over the next few days, attributing it to the expected rains and subsequent cooling of the atmosphere. Wet weather conditions are predicted to persist until June 7, maintaining day temperatures close to normal levels across the state. This includes Chennai, which has been experiencing intense heat in recent days.
