Central Railway Rolls Out 38 AC Summer Specials For Enhanced Travel

Central Railway announces 38 additional summer special train services between Mumbai-Thivim and Mumbai-Danapur to accommodate the seasonal passenger surge.

In response to the anticipated increase in passenger traffic during the summer season, Central Railway has announced the introduction of 38 additional summer special train services. This strategic move is aimed at accommodating the surge in passengers and ensuring a smoother travel experience. Among the newly introduced services, 36 are tri-weekly AC specials operating between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Mumbai, and Thivim, while the remaining two specials will connect Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai, with Danapur.

Mumbai-Thivim Additional Services

The tri-weekly AC specials from LTT, Mumbai to Thivim will embark on a total of 36 trips. Train number 01017 is scheduled to depart from LTT Mumbai at 10.15 pm every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday, starting from the 26th of April 2024 until the 4th of June 2024. It will reach Thivim the following morning at 09.50 am. Conversely, train number 01018 will leave Thivim at 4.35 pm every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, from the 27th of April 2024 to the 5th of June 2024, arriving back in Mumbai at 03.45 am the next day. These trains will stop at various stations including Thane, Panvel, and Ratnagiri, among others, and will consist of 15 AC-3 Tier coaches and 2 Generator Cars.

Mumbai-Danapur Special Service

For those travelling between Mumbai and Danapur, two special trips have been scheduled. The 01011 special will leave LTT Mumbai at 10.30 am on Friday, the 26th of April 2024, reaching Danapur at 7 pm the next day. The return journey, train number 01012, will depart from Danapur at 10 pm on Saturday, the 27th of April 2024, and is set to arrive at LTT Mumbai at 04.50 am on the third day. The route includes stops at notable stations such as Nashik Road, Bhusaval, and Jabalpur. The composition of these trains will feature a mix of AC 2-Tier cum AC-3 Tier, AC-3 Tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class coaches, totaling 19 ICF Coaches.
