Your favorite destination Fiji is open for international travelers from now onwards after removing certain travel restrictions. According to the most recent news sources, foreign visitors to Fiji will no longer need to show confirmation of COVID-19 vaccinations and travel insurance.
According to sources, this most recent action was taken after the nation's COVID-19 Risk Mitigation Taskforce (CRMT), which is currently relevant to both arrivals by air and sea, carefully considered the global and national COVID-19 scenario.
In reference to this, Fiji Tourism CEO Brent Hill noted that there are currently no protocols, limitations, vaccination requirements, or COVID-19 reports in place because the industry is appreciative of the decision and welcomes visitors from around the world to visit Fiji.
Nonetheless, he went on to say that they strongly advise tourists to get travel insurance and take the required precautions to keep themselves well and be able to maximize their time in Fiji.
Previously, travellers aged 16 and older were required to show complete documentation of their vaccinations as well as proof of travel insurance that covers COVID-19 disease. Fiji, one of the first nations to open its borders in the year 2021, asserted in 2022 that it was experiencing a robust recovery that exceeded expectations.
According to the nation's Ministry of Health & Medical Services (MHMS), hospitalization remained low because of its community-wide vaccination policy as well as in surveillance capacity.
