Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has started Metro train services on the Rashtreeya Vidyalaya Road (RV Road) to the Delta Electronics Bommasandra stretch of the Yellow Line from August 11 this year. This new Metro line is expected to greatly help daily commuters, especially those travelling to and from

major work and residential areas along the route.
Why is the Corridor Essential?
To make travel easier for passengers after they get down from the Metro, BMRCL worked together with the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) to improve last-mile connectivity. Officials from both organisations jointly inspected the entire corridor to understand commuter needs and identify suitable locations for bus stops near Metro stations.
Introduction of Several Bus Stops
Based on this inspection, BMTC has introduced several new bus stops and shifted some existing ones closer to Metro stations. The newly added bus stops are located at Biocon Hebbagodi, Beratena Agrahara, Singasandra, Hongasandra, Central Silk Board, and RV Road. These stops are meant to ensure smoother transfers between buses and Metro trains.
Major Stoppages
Moreover, some existing bus stops have been relocated closer to Bengaluru's Metro stations to reduce walking distance for passengers. These include stops at Electronic City, Hosa Road, and Ragigudda. At places such as Jayadeva, BTM Layout, Bommanahalli, Kudlu Gate, and Infosys Foundation Konappana Agrahara, bus stops were already available within 100 metres of the Metro stations, so no changes were required there.
However, at Huskur Road and Delta Electronics Bommasandra, bus stops could not be shifted closer to the Metro stations. Officials explained that space constraints in these areas made relocation difficult.
These steps by BMRCL and BMTC aim to make Metro travel more convenient by improving bus connectivity and reducing the distance commuters need to walk, encouraging more people to use public transport.
