All six coaches of the sixth trainset for Namma Metro's Yellow Line have finally reached Bengaluru after completing a long road journey of about two weeks from Kolkata. According to a senior official from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), three coaches arrived at the Hebbagodi depot over the

weekend, and the remaining three arrived shortly afterward. With this, the entire trainset is now in the city and ready for the next steps before entering service.
Technical Checks
BMRCL engineers and technical teams will now begin a series of checks on the new train. These include both static tests, where the train is examined while stationary, and dynamic tests, where the train is operated on the tracks to assess its performance, safety, and reliability. Only after these tests are completed will the train be cleared for public use. Officials expect the train to start carrying passengers by the third week of December if everything goes as planned.
Sixth Train on the Yellow Line
Once the sixth train becomes operational on the Yellow Line, the frequency of trains during peak hours will improve. Currently, commuters have to wait longer between trains, but with the addition of this trainset, the interval is expected to reduce to around 12 minutes. This will make travel more convenient and help manage the growing number of passengers on the route.
Purple & Green Lines
BMRCL is also considering starting Yellow Line services earlier in the day. At the moment, trains on this line begin operations at 6 am, whereas the Purple and Green lines start at 5 am. With the growing demand and the addition of new trains, the metro authority may advance the starting time to offer better connectivity and smoother travel for early-morning commuters.
