Expansion of Vande Bharat Trains Across India
PM Modi affirmed the BJP's commitment to extend Vande Bharat trains to every corner of the country. The envisioned expansion encompasses three models of Vande Bharat Express: Vande Bharat Sleeper, Vande Bharat Chaircar, and Vande Bharat Metro. These trains aim to revolutionize the rail transit experience, offering enhanced comfort and efficiency to passengers nationwide.
Features of Vande Bharat Express Chair Car Trains:
1. Seating Arrangement:
- Seats Available: Each chair car coach on the Vande Bharat Express can accommodate up to 78 passengers.
- Comfortable Layout: The seats are usually arranged in a 3x2 pattern, offering enough space for passengers to sit comfortably.
- Additional Amenities: Passengers can enjoy headrests, reading lights, and convenient luggage racks for their belongings.
2. Coach Details:
- Number of Coaches: A Vande Bharat Express train has 14 coaches dedicated to chair car seating.
- Executive Class: There are also 2 executive class coaches with seats that can rotate, arranged in a 2x2 layout.
3. Automatic Doors and Passenger Information System:
- Safety Features: All coaches come with automatic doors that open and close with sensors, ensuring passenger safety.
- Traveler Information: A GPS-based audio-visual system provides passengers with information about their journey, keeping them informed throughout.
Features of Vande Bharat Express Sleeper Trains:
1. Improved Facilities:
- Wider Beds: The sleeper coaches will have larger beds for a more comfortable journey.

- The Vande Bharat sleeper trains are made to go faster, up to 160 kmph, which means they can get you where you're going quicker.

4. Upcoming Improvements:
- The first version of the Vande Bharat sleeper train is being built by BEML and will be tested soon. These new trains aim to give passengers a more modern and efficient travel experience.

The Vande Metro trains, inspired by the successful Vande Bharat Express, are made for quick travel over shorter distances. Here's what you need to know about them:
Compact Design and Speed:
- The Vande Metro will be smaller than the Vande Bharat Express, with around 8 coaches instead of the usual 16.
- It's designed for trips up to 300 kilometers.
- Moving at speeds of up to 130 kmph, it'll zip passengers to their destination like a speedy shuttle.
Comfort and Convenience:
- Fully air-conditioned coaches ensure a comfy journey.
- With a lightweight body, the train is efficient and easy to move.
- Cushioned seats make the ride cozy.
- Wide automatic doors make getting on and off the train smooth.
- The aerodynamic design at the front enhances safety and performance.
- Security is ensured with CCTV cameras and a Passenger Information System (PIS).
- Soft lighting and route indicator displays create a pleasant atmosphere.

High Frequency:
- Unlike the Vande Bharat Express, the Vande Metro will run 4 to 5 times a day.

- Initially, the Vande Metro will be introduced in Mumbai's local train network.
