Residents across several parts of Bhopal are likely to face scheduled power cuts on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, as the electricity department carries out maintenance, line shifting and infrastructure-related works in multiple zones of the city.
According to the shutdown schedule released by the power department, electricity supply will remain disrupted between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. in different localities. The outages are being conducted for metro construction work, DTR charging, line maintenance and pole shifting activities.
6 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Areas Affected: Bapu Ki Kutiya, Dynamic Centre, Chita Complex, Lahoti Chamber, Plot No. 216 to 235, Nafees Complex, Bank of India surroundings, Sahara India, Kamdhenu Complex, Press Complex, Pragati Bhavan, Hotel Rajtilak, Minal Restaurant area, Indore Bank Zone-2, C Bungalow, Sanchi Complex, No. 6 Stop, Ankur School, Nutan College, 104-105 Block, Sarita Complex and nearby areas.
Reason: Line shifting and maintenance work.
8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Areas Affected: Om Nagar, Sawan Nagar, Halalpur Bus Stand, Bairagarh Road, Lake Land Garden, RK Residency, City Walk, Shant Ji Ki Kutiya, Bairagarh Police Station, K-Sector, Sagar Estate, Sagar College, Sharda Kunj, Abhinav Kirti, D-Mart locality, Maholi, Kakra Abhinav Homes, Rani Marriage Hall and Sagar Heights.
Reason: Metro construction work and NHAI line shifting activities.
9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Areas Affected: Uma Vihar, Katiyar Market, Abbas Nagar, Amridhi Parisar, Lalita Nagar, Ankit Parisar, Om Nagar, Rajharsh Colony, Sasta Bhandar area and surrounding localities.
Reason: Line maintenance work.
10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Areas Affected: Janakpuri, Narayan Guru Housing Society, Raj Samrat Colony, Shravan Kanta Homes and nearby residential pockets.
Reason: DTR charging work.
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Areas Affected: Indravihar B and C Sector, Panchwati, Tata Teleservices Tower area, Barkhedi Kala, Vivekanand College surroundings, Sharda Vidya Mandir, Purvanchal Phase-I, Rishi Puram Phase-II, Vaibhav Vihar, Kaushalya Nagar, Deep Nagar, Vardhaman Green Valley, Surbhi Vihar, ESRG Campus, Yugantar, Kanchan Nagar, Ajay Heights, Inoksh Tower, Star Avenue, Rajiv Palace, Khajuri Village, Gurjar Apartments, Sai Sparsh-2, Palak Vihar, 11 Mile Petrol Pump area, Shivlok Phase-4 and Regal Kalash.
Reason: Line maintenance, pole shifting and road construction-related works.
Advisory for Residents
Residents living in the affected areas are advised to charge essential devices beforehand and plan work schedules accordingly. Businesses and commercial establishments may also experience temporary interruptions during the shutdown period.
The maintenance work is being carried out as part of infrastructure improvement and power supply management ahead of rising summer electricity demand in the city.
