BESCOM Schedules Power Cuts in Bengaluru for February 18 – Check Affected Areas

Bengaluru residents should prepare for power outages on Tuesday, February 18, as the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has scheduled electricity cuts in over 100 areas. The power supply will be interrupted due to essential maintenance work at two major power stations.

Bengaluru to Face Power Cuts

Maintenance Schedule and Affected Areas

The maintenance work will take place at the 66/11 KV Telecom and Banaswadi stations. The Telecom station will be under maintenance from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, while work at the Banaswadi station will continue from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. BESCOM has informed residents that this work is necessary to ensure the reliability and safety of the city's power grid.

Several neighborhoods will experience power cuts for different durations. Areas near the Telecom station, such as Hosahalli Main Road, Arfat Nagar, and Padarayanapura, will have no electricity from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Meanwhile, areas served by the Banaswadi station, including Horamavu P&T Layout, Nisarga Colony, and Nandana Colony, will face power cuts from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Other affected localities include Krishnareddy Layout, Gopalareddy Layout, Chikka Banaswadi, OMBR Layout, and Green Park Layout. BESCOM has urged residents to prepare for the outages and cooperate during the maintenance period.

Importance of Maintenance Work

BESCOM has assured the public that this maintenance is crucial for improving the power supply across Bengaluru. The company has taken proactive steps to notify residents in advance, helping them make necessary arrangements.

Although temporary power cuts can be inconvenient, such infrastructure improvements are essential for maintaining a stable and efficient electricity network. BESCOM has also provided a list of affected areas, including residential complexes, hospitals, and commercial zones, to ensure people are well-informed.

Residents are advised to charge electronic devices beforehand and plan their activities accordingly. Businesses and households should take necessary precautions to avoid disruptions during the scheduled power cut.

Bengaluru will experience widespread power outages on February 18 due to maintenance work at key power stations. BESCOM has planned these disruptions carefully to improve the long-term reliability of the city's electricity supply.
