Several parts of Bengaluru will experience a scheduled power outage on Wednesday, November 26, as announced by the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM). The power cut will last for about seven hours. According to the electricity board, the outage is necessary because major maintenance work and infrastructure upgrades are being

carried out. These improvements are part of a larger project to modernise the Subramanyapura 110/66/11 kV power station. The upgrades are aimed at improving load handling and ensuring a more stable supply of electricity in Bengaluru South in the long run. The scheduled outage will take place on November 26, 2025, from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Areas Likely to Be Affected
Many localities are expected to face the power shutdown, including Banashankari, Padmanabhanagar, Kathriguppe, Kumaraswamy Layout, ISRO Layout, Uttarahalli, Chikkalasandra, Hosakerehalli, Girinagar, Srinagar, Gubbalala, Konanakunte, JP Nagar 6th and 7th Phase, Yelachenahalli, and nearby areas.
BESCOM has explained that the temporary inconvenience is necessary to strengthen the city's electricity distribution network. Once the work is completed, residents can expect fewer power supply issues, fewer voltage drops, and better load management.
Guidelines for Residents
People living in the affected areas are encouraged to plan their day. They should fully charge phones, laptops, and other essential devices before the outage. Keeping power banks ready can help during the downtime. Those who rely on medical equipment are advised to arrange backup power. Residents should avoid using lifts when the power supply is unstable and refrain from switching on heavy electrical appliances immediately after electricity is restored. Business owners should also schedule their activities, keeping the outage time in mind.
BESCOM has asked consumers not to file complaints unless the power cut continues beyond 5 PM.
