Bengaluru has introduced new traffic routes due to the white-topping work on a busy road. The affected stretch, from Main Guard Cross Road to Dispensary Road, is now closed for all vehicles for 30 days, starting Sunday. This work is part of the city's efforts to improve road quality and make them more durable for long-term use.

Traffic Diversions and Alternative Routes
The road closure has caused changes, especially for vehicles traveling to and from Commercial Street. Commuters using Safina Plaza Junction, Infantry Road, Cubbon Road, and Main Guard Cross Road will need to follow new routes.
For vehicles heading towards Commercial Street from Infantry Road and Safina Plaza:
1. Take a right turn at Infantry Road and Lady Curzon Junction.
2. Take a left turn onto Lady Curzon Road.
3. Take another left at Cubbon Road and KR Road Junction.
4. Finally, take a left at Kamaraj Road to reach Commercial Street.
For vehicles coming from Cubbon Road and Main Guard Cross Road towards Commercial Street:
1. Travel via Cubbon Road.
2. Take a left turn at KR Road and Cubbon Road Junction.
3. Continue along Kamaraj Road to reach Commercial Street.
Why This Change is Necessary
White-topping is an important project to provide stronger and smoother roads in Bengaluru. Although the road closure may cause some inconvenience, it is expected to bring long-term benefits. The new surface will reduce potholes and make driving more comfortable for commuters.
With the diversions in place, commuters are advised to plan their routes in advance to avoid traffic congestion. Following the alternative routes will help reduce delays and ensure a smooth journey. Bengaluru's road improvement projects aim to provide a better infrastructure and driving experience for all.
