Bengaluru is expected to receive much-needed rainfall this weekend, bringing relief from the recent hot and humid weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted showers starting March 23, cooling down the rising temperatures in the city. While Bengaluru is set for a wet spell, other parts of Karnataka will experience mixed weather conditions, with some districts receiving rain and others remaining dry.

Rain Expected in Bengaluru and Other Districts
IMD has forecasted rain across 12 districts in Karnataka, signaling a change in weather patterns. Along with Bengaluru, the affected areas include:
- Tumakuru
- Ramanagara
- Mysuru
- Mandya
- Kodagu
- Kolar
- Hassan
- Chikkamagaluru
- Chikkaballapur
- Chamarajanagar
- Bengaluru Rural and Urban
- Dakshina Kannada
Residents in these districts can expect showers over the weekend, which will bring relief from the hot and humid conditions.
Dry Weather in Other Parts of Karnataka
While some districts will see rain, others are likely to remain dry. The IMD has predicted dry weather for:
- Udupi
- Uttara Kannada
- Bagalkot
- Belagavi
- Bidar
- Dharwad
- Gadag
- Haveri
- Kalaburagi
- Koppal
- Raichur
- Vijayapura
- Yadgir
- Vijayanagar
Additionally, areas in northern Karnataka, such as MM Hills, HD Kote, Bandipur, Saragur, Hunsur, and Maddur, have already seen sporadic showers but will continue to experience mostly dry conditions.
Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre's Update
The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre has supported the IMD's prediction by providing district-wise rainfall forecasts for the next seven days. A recent update on social media has urged residents and local authorities to stay informed about the changing weather. This will help communities prepare for both rainfall and dry spells effectively.
As Bengaluru and other districts get ready for the expected rainfall, the shift in weather highlights how unpredictable the climate can be. While some residents look forward to the rain bringing down the heat, those in dry areas may continue to face challenges due to the lack of moisture. Staying updated on weather conditions is important for planning daily activities and ensuring safety during sudden weather changes.
With showers expected in Bengaluru and surrounding districts, the city is likely to experience cooler temperatures and fresh air. However, other parts of Karnataka will need to prepare for dry conditions and the challenges that come with it. Keeping track of weather updates will help residents stay prepared and make the most of the changing climate.
