Bengaluru is getting ready for major changes in its roads and metro lines to reduce the city's daily traffic problems. The government is planning new projects to make traveling easier, especially for people who work in busy areas and face long travel times. One of the biggest projects is a 32.15-kilometer double-decker flyover and metro corridor along the Outer Ring Road (ORR), which will help thousands of commuters every day.

Double-Decker Flyover from JP Nagar to Hebbal
A new double-decker flyover is planned between JP Nagar and Hebbal. This is inspired by the successful Ragigudda-Silk Board flyover model. This flyover is expected to ease traffic on one of the busiest routes in the city. People living in these areas or traveling through them for work will benefit from a smoother and faster drive.
More Expansion on Magadi Road
To further improve transport, the government is also planning to build an eight-kilometer elevated road along Magadi Road. This is part of the Phase 3 expansion of the Namma Metro. With this plan, the metro network will grow by over 40 kilometers. The new corridor will be signal-free and will combine road and metro travel, giving people a better and more comfortable journey.
Investment and Support
The total cost of all these projects is around Rs 9,800 crore. The money will be shared by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and Namma Metro. This partnership shows how both government bodies are working together to improve the city's roads and public transport.
Government Inspections and Design Changes
Last month, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar visited the key project sites. After checking everything in detail, the government made some changes to the designs. These changes will help save money and make the projects better in the long run.
New Interchange Station at Goraguntepalya
There is also a change in the metro station plans. The proposed interchange station will now be at Goraguntepalya instead of Peenya. This change will reduce the metro line by almost 300 meters. The stations will be connected by travelators to help passengers move easily between them. This smart planning will save money and improve the travel experience for metro users.
A New Future for Bengaluru Travel
With these new flyovers, roadways, and metro lines, Bengaluru is stepping into a better future. These projects will make daily travel easier, reduce traffic jams, and offer a smooth journey to many people. This is a big step toward solving the city's traffic problems and improving life for its residents.
