Bengaluru’s Temperature Rises to 33.3°C, Indicating Early Summer

Bengaluru, known for its pleasant climate, is seeing an unusual rise in temperatures, bringing an early summer this year. The India Meteorology Department (IMD) has reported that the city's maximum temperatures are higher than usual for this time of year. A recent report showed that Bengaluru's daytime temperature reached nearly 32 degrees Celsius, similar to Karnataka's hottest regions, Raichur and Kalaburagi. This change is happening because of the absence of northerly winds, which usually help keep the city cool.

Bengaluru s Temperature Rises

The IMD's daily updates show that maximum temperatures are higher in many parts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru. Other cities in South Interior Karnataka, as well as places like Bagalkote, Dharwad, Gadag, and Kalaburagi in North Interior Karnataka, have also recorded above-normal temperatures. The forecast says that Bengaluru may reach up to 34 degrees Celsius in the coming days. The next five days are expected to stay warm, with temperatures remaining around 34 degrees Celsius before slightly dropping to 33 degrees Celsius later in the week.

Bengaluru's Temperature Crosses Normal Levels

On a recent Thursday, Bengaluru recorded a maximum temperature of 33.3 degrees Celsius, which is 2.7 degrees Celsius above the usual temperature for this time of year. Normally, summer in Bengaluru starts in early March, but this year it might begin as early as mid-February. The maximum temperature has been above 30 degrees Celsius since the last week of January, showing a clear rise in heat earlier than expected.

Early Summer Confirmed by IMD

IMD scientists confirm that Bengaluru is likely to see summer arriving early. Winter in the city usually lasts for about three months, ending in late February. However, this year, winter seems to have ended sooner, with temperatures rising from the last week of January. The lack of cooling winds is playing a big role in this weather change.

The forecast suggests clear skies over the next few days, with some early morning fog or mist in certain areas. The maximum temperature is likely to stay around 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may be around 18 degrees Celsius.

Bengaluru is now preparing for warmer days ahead, with temperatures higher than usual. The missing northerly winds are making the weather hotter, causing the city to experience summer earlier than expected. Residents and visitors should be ready for the rising heat as Bengaluru moves into summer much sooner this year.
