The India Meteorological Department has said that Bengaluru and many other parts of Karnataka are likely to receive rain over the next few days. Rain is also expected in the state capital and nearby regions today. The weather department has warned that similar conditions may continue for the coming days.

Bengaluru Rain Alert
According to the forecast, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, and surrounding areas may receive moderate to heavy rainfall. The city could get around 75 to 115 mm of rain in the next few days. Officials have issued a yellow alert for both today and tomorrow to warn people about possible heavy showers and related problems.
List of Districts to Receive Rainfall
The weather department has also predicted moderate rainfall in coastal districts such as Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, and Udupi. Rainfall warnings have been issued for several other districts too, including Belgaum, Bagalkot, Raichur, Dharwad, Gadag, Koppal, Haveri, Vijayanagar, Bellary, Shivamogga, Davangere, Chitradurga, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Hassan, Tumkur, Mysore, Mandya, Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Chamarajanagar, and Ramanagar.
High Temperatures in Northern Karnataka
At the same time, some areas in northern Karnataka may continue to face very high temperatures. Places like Athani in Belgaum district and Aurad, Bhalki, and Kamlanagar in Bidar district may see temperatures reaching around 42 degrees Celsius. Other places in the Bidar and Kalaburagi districts could experience temperatures close to 40 degrees Celsius.
Rainfall in Karnataka
The IMD has further stated that rain is expected in many parts of Karnataka until May 21. Coastal, north interior, and south interior regions may all receive rainfall. Some places in south interior of Karnataka may also experience heavy rain along with thunder and lightning.
