Bengaluru Rain Alert till May 29

The forecast says Bengaluru will have partly cloudy skies that may become more cloudy during the afternoon and evening until Monday. Rain or thundershowers are expected in different parts of the city, along with gusty winds. The maximum temperature is likely to stay around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may remain near 22 degrees Celsius.

Reason behind the Weather Change

IMD officials said the current weather conditions are being caused by an upper air cyclonic circulation formed over the southwest Bay of Bengal and nearby regions. This weather system is expected to bring widespread rain activity across Bengaluru and many other parts of Karnataka.

Weather Records on Sunday

Weather data recorded on Sunday morning showed that temperatures in Bengaluru have dropped noticeably. Many places in Karnataka reported temperatures that were 2 to 5 degrees Celsius below normal levels. Bengaluru's daytime temperature stayed below 30 degrees Celsius, which is lower than the average temperature of 34 degrees Celsius seen during the previous week. However, the evening forecast for the city remained around 32 degrees Celsius.

Other Districts in Karnataka to be Affected

IMD officials also said that a north-south trough extending from south Bihar to north coastal Andhra Pradesh through Jharkhand and Odisha is helping increase rainfall activity in the region. Apart from Bengaluru, most districts of Karnataka, including north interior Karnataka, coastal Karnataka and south interior Karnataka, are also under a yellow alert for rain till May 29.
