The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has informed residents that some parts of Bengaluru will face a planned power cut on Saturday, December 20. The outage will occur from 10 am to 3 pm due to routine quarterly maintenance work being conducted by the power utility.

Maintenance Work
According to BESCOM, the maintenance work will involve servicing the 31.5 MVA Transformer-2 along with the connected power feeders at the 220/66/11 KV HAL station. This work is essential to ensure a reliable and safe electricity supply in the long term. The maintenance is scheduled to start at 10 am and is expected to be completed by 3 pm on the same day.
List of Affected Areas
During these five hours, several areas in the city may experience power disruption. The affected localities include Defence Colony in Indiranagar, 100 Feet Road, Indiranagar 1st and 2nd Stage, and 80 Feet Road. Other areas likely to be impacted are CMH Road, Krishna Temple Road, Jeevan Bhima Nagar, Thippasandra, Malleshpalya, Maruthi Nagar, Basavanagara, Vibhutipura, and Doddanekundi. BESCOM has also stated that the nearby surrounding areas could face power cuts during the maintenance window.
Advisory for Residents
Residents living in these areas have been advised to plan their day and make necessary arrangements to manage without electricity during the outage period. Offices, shops, and households may want to charge essential devices beforehand and schedule important work accordingly.
