Bengaluru residents in several parts of the city should prepare for a scheduled six-hour power cut on July 29, as BESCOM has announced an electricity outage due to emergency maintenance work by KPTCL.

Bengaluru Power Cut on 29 July
According to BESCOM, the power supply will remain disrupted from 11 am to 5 pm in areas under the C-7 sub-division of the Hebbal division. The shutdown is necessary to carry out emergency maintenance at the Kattigenahalli 66/11 KV substation.
Areas to be Affected in Bengaluru
The areas expected to be affected include North Gate 1, North Gate 2 and North Gate 3, Embassy and Philips Company surroundings, Dwarkanagar, Babanagar, and the entire Kattigenahalli area. The power supply will also remain suspended in Bagalur Cross, Bagalur Main Road, Vinayaknagar, Manipal College, BSF Camp, and PDMS areas.
The temporary shutdown may affect both residential and commercial establishments in these localities for the entire six-hour period. Residents are encouraged to make the necessary arrangements in advance to minimise disruption to their daily routine.
Advisory for Bengaluru Residents
People living or working in the affected localities are advised to complete important tasks before the power cut begins. BESCOM has suggested charging mobile phones and other electronic devices in advance, storing enough water if required, and planning work accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the outage.
BESCOM has expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the planned outage. The utility said the maintenance work is essential to ensure a reliable electricity supply and improve the power infrastructure in the area. It appealed to residents and businesses to cooperate during the maintenance period by completing essential work before the scheduled shutdown and taking all necessary precautions until electricity supply is restored later in the day.
