Bengaluru Police Issue Traffic Advisory Ahead of Karaga Mahotsava; Check the Routes to Avoid

Bengaluru, Karnataka: The Bengaluru Police have announced traffic restrictions and issued an advisory for the city in anticipation of the 'Karaga Mahotsava' festival set to take place in the Madivala limits on Wednesday. With an expected attendance of around 10,000 people, including political leaders and locals from surrounding villages, authorities are keen on ensuring smooth traffic flow during the event.

Karaga Mahotsava in Bengaluru

The Karaga Mahotsava, a significant festival held once every 10 years, celebrates the Sri Renuka Yallamma Devi. As part of the festivities, a grand Flower Palanquin Utsav will commence from the Hongasandra Anjaneya Temple, proceeding towards Adarsha School. To facilitate this procession, traffic along the route from Kodichikkanahalli Junction to Beguru via Hongasandra Main Road will be temporarily blocked at certain points.

To manage the influx of vehicles and maintain order, the Bengaluru Police have outlined specific traffic diversions and alternative routes. Vehicles traveling towards Beguru from Bommanahalli Junction on the Hosur main road can directly head to Kudlugate and take a right turn to reach Begur main road. Similarly, those traveling from Bommanahalli Junction towards Devarachikkanahalli and Begur will need to take a right turn at Kodichikkanahalli Junction and proceed through D Mart Junction.

For vehicles moving from Begur towards Kodichikkanahalli, a left turn near PK Kalayana Mantapa cross under Hulimavu Traffic Police Station will lead them to Kodichikkanahalli via internal roads of Begur. Additionally, vehicles can access Devarachikkanahali main road and head towards Bommanahalli Junction via Kodichikkanahalli Junction.

On the 12th and 13th of March 2024, approximately 10 thousand people from neighboring villages, along with political leaders, are expected to participate in the Sri Renuka Yallamma Devi Karaga Mahostav.

The traffic advisory comes into effect from 5 PM on Tuesday and will continue until 3 PM on Wednesday, ensuring minimal disruption to commuters while ensuring the safety and smooth execution of the Karaga Mahotsava festivities.

Authorities urge the public to adhere to the outlined guidelines and cooperate with traffic police to ensure a hassle-free experience for all attendees and commuters alike. Let us come together to celebrate this cultural extravaganza while maintaining the harmony of our city's traffic flow.
