Bengaluru's Yellow Metro Line is set to begin operations on Monday, connecting RV Road to Bommasandra with 16 stations aimed at easing urban travel. Services will start at 5 a.m. on August 11.

Covering a stretch of over 19 kilometers, the corridor links southern Bengaluru to the Bommasandra industrial hub and features three interchange stations-RV Road, Jayadeva, and Central Silk Board-which will connect with the forthcoming Pink and Blue lines.
Route Overview and Connectivity
The Yellow Line is designed to ease traffic congestion by connecting key points such as RV Road, Jayadeva, Central Silk Board, Hosa Road, and Electronics City. Prominent stations like Electronics City and Infosys Foundation improve links between business hubs and other parts of the city.
With its launch, Namma Metro's operational network now exceeds 96 kilometers, securing its position as India's second-largest metro system after Delhi. The route also offers direct access to major tech giants, including Infosys, Wipro, Biocon, and Tech Mahindra.
Operating Hours and Fare Details
Initially, three trains will operate daily from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm, with services every 25 minutes. The frequency is expected to improve to one train every 10 minutes in the future. One-way fares will range between ₹10 and ₹90.
The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), a collaborative initiative between the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka, is responsible for the metro's operation and maintenance.
Investment and Future Developments
The Yellow Line was built at an estimated cost of ₹7,160 crore, with the objective of greatly improving urban mobility in Bengaluru.
This expansion is expected to transform daily commuting, providing efficient and reliable transport options for thousands of passengers every day.
